A server is a machine or special device with a specific set of programs that provide a variety of services where the Hardware server, software provides a variety of services depending on customer requests. The server can provide a variety of functions such as centralized access to information, resources, database and delivery system, acting as a customer / server network because the server and client work together to perform tasks. The server comes in different types and sizes to simplify different tasks.
A file server is a machine that stores files and allows clients or users to upload and download files to them. Clients mainly include computers, printers, faxes or other devices that can be connected to the server by sharing files securely.

Application Server: An application server is a product-based product also known as middleware that provides middleware security and state-of-the-art services, as well as data access and persistence. Contains a large number of computer regions between the data servers and the end user.
Groupware Server: Designed for software that enables users to work together, no matter where they are, on the Internet and work together in a virtual environment.
Virtual Servers: A Virtual Server is a separate computer that shares hardware and other applications (OS) to satisfy customer needs. Virtual server is inexpensive and provides instant resource management.
IRC Server: An IRC server (Internet Relay Chat) designed for users to work in virtual mode provides real-time chat capabilities. Contains separate network servers that allow users to connect to each other on an IRC network.
List: It is a good way to manage the mailing list. The server can be an open personal chat group or a one-way list. It is a program that handles address list subscription requests and distributes new messages, newsletters, or other submissions from list members to the entire subscriber list
Audio and Video Server: Enables multimedia for websites to stream streaming multimedia content to a user.
Chat Server and Fax server: The chat server creates real-time chat power for users to exchange data in a place such as an Internet newsgroup with a fax server and is one of the best ways for organizations to fax real documents.
Mail Server: Transfers and stores emails over corporate networks via LANs, WANs and across the Internet.
Proxy Server: Works as a mediator between the client system and the external server for filtering applications to improve performance and communication sharing.
Web Server: Share file via a web browser by uploading a file from disk and transferring it using the network to the user's web browser. This exchange was made via HTTP between the browser and the server
